Bathroom Safety Modifications Sydney
SealRITE installs bathroom safety modifications for NDIS participants, aged care recipients, and anyone who needs safer bathroom access. Every modification is correctly anchored into the substrate behind the tiles — not just surface-mounted.
What We Install
- Grab rails and safety rails (wall-anchored into substrate)
- Non-slip tile treatments and non-slip tiling
- Shower threshold ramps
- Fold-down shower seats (substrate-anchored)
- Accessible shower reconfigurations
All installations meet AS 1428 (Design for Access and Mobility) anchoring requirements.
Why Anchoring Depth Matters
A grab rail that is surface-mounted into tiles and tile adhesive only will fail under load. The anchor must reach the wall structure behind the tile substrate to provide the load-bearing capacity required for a person to use it safely.
SealRITE’s licensed tilers and waterproofers locate the correct anchor points before drilling, ensure the waterproofing membrane is maintained at the penetration, and anchor into the structural element behind the wall. This is the correct method. It is also the method required under AS 1428.
Bathroom Safety Modifications for Strata Properties
Accessibility modifications in strata properties may require owners corporation approval before installation, particularly for common property bathrooms or where structural anchoring is required. SealRITE can provide a written scope of works to support an owners corporation approval request.
